The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Addis Ababa

Since 1968 E.C., the Addis Ababa City Islamic Affairs Supreme Council has served the Muslim community through religious leadership, social development and community service — now made easier with NIZAM.

Who We Are

The Addis Ababa City Islamic Affairs Supreme Council was established under Proclamation 1207/2012 and is the highest Islamic affairs body in Addis Ababa, serving the Muslim community since 1968 E.C.

Through its General Assembly, Executive and more than twenty departments, the Council coordinates religious affairs, institutional management and social development across eleven sub-cities.

The NIZAM e-Management System brings these services online, making it easier for citizens and organisations to access and track them.

Governance

A transparent, accountable leadership structure

The constitution establishes clear organs of governance — from the highest decision-making body to independent oversight.

General Assembly

The highest authority — approves plans, budgets and institutional decisions, and elects leadership.
